The State Bank of Geneva would like to thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to restore the building after the fire on October 24, 2012. Early that morning, a small fire destroyed one office in the northwest corner of the main level. Smoke and water damaged the remainder of the main floor as well as the basement and second floor. All private customer information and documents were stored electronically or in lockable, fireproof cabinets and the main safe deposit vault which kept them safe. Investigations by the Geneva Fire Department and the ATF, were unable to determine the cause of the fire but found no evidence of a crime.
As the rebuilding process continues, we will provide you with status updates and pictures in the Banking Center and on our Facebook page at
During the bank restoration, Personal Bankers and Tellers will be available in our Banking Center at 22 S 4th St. (front parking lot). The Loan, Trust and Bookkeeping departments are located in the bank annex at 11 N. 5th St., Geneva (behind Marberry cleaners on State St.). The drive up and walk up will be available as usual. For updates on the restoration, watch our Facebook page. We'll be back better than before to serve Geneva.
Safe deposit boxes were not damaged in the fire. For safety reasons during the renovation, we ask that customers call (630) 232-3201 to make an appointment to access their safe deposit box.
